I just released episode 3 of “How to build a home studio”, the tutorial for any home recording musician on how to create his or her own project studio. In this episode we complete the soundproofing of the room by installing the ceiling frame and attaching it to the walls frame, making the entire structure stable and ready for soundproofing. Then, we take care of our infrastructure – electricity outlets, lights and Ethernet LAN connection. We then lay in some big rockwool chunks for soundproofing and finish by sealing them with wooden panels.
By the end of the episode, we get a highly efficient layer of isolation between us and the surrounding, and the room is ready for the final stage, the acoustical treatment, which we will discuss in episode 4.
